Bachmann: Only “sycophants” trust Obama now

WASHINGTON — At a small health care briefing put on by several House Republicans, Rep. Michele Bachmann argued that the president had lost momentum on health care reform because Americans didn’t trust him when he talked about it.

“What he’s trying to do is boost up the Democrats,” said Bachmann. “The people aren’t listening to him the way that they did before. They were hanging on his every word [before].”

Last week, said Bachmann, was “the first time I felt like we were going to win this thing. I sensed it when the president was in Minnesota. There were a lot of sycophants in that hall. There were not a lot of true believers in that hall.”

Republicans were winning over skeptics when they brought “reality-based medicine” into the discussion.

Bachmann, who said last week that Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) “spoke the truth” about illegal immigrants and health care, cited Wilson again when he criticized the White House’s response to the 9/12 march on Washington.

“Probably one of the best lines last week,” she said, “apart from the one that we heard on the House floor, would have been last Friday, when the press asked Robert Gibbs what the White House thought about the Tea Parties on Saturday. I thought it was fascinating. The response was, the White House wasn’t aware of any events on Saturday. And I thought, could there be a more out of touch, politically tone-deaf response than to say we have no idea more than a million people are going to come to our fair city?”

Bachmann cited Wilson again when she reported back on an encounter she had with Democrats at the Minnesota State Fair, when she got up to give a speech on a soapboax.

“The great thing is the Democratic booth was kitty-corner,” she said, “and they came over, and I was answering questions, and they were yelling ‘Liar, liar!’” It was the best town hall meeting that I’ve had.”

“We’re going to win this thing”? What thing? Stopping health insurers from bleeding us dry?
Michelle, meet reality. There’s no way more than a million people joined that demonstration, or even half that number. Were you there? Did you count?
I thought our elected representatives were supposed to represent our interests, the interests of the taxpayers, rather than their own skewed views of reality. I guess she thinks that, if she has no good ideas of her own, it’s better to tear down the ideas of others than to do nothing.
Why this woman (or anyone) would think it’s great that people shout “liar” at her or anyone, even a political opponent, is beyond me.

Maybe she was in the bushes watching the Teabaggers – like the time she was photographed in the bushes watching LGBT people at the MN State Capital.

This woman represents the Tea Klux Klan well. She is a complete nutcase with a slim grasp of the facts at best. It will be interesting to see which insurance company has bought and paid for her lies and shilling. Her campaign money comes at a high price for her constituents.

In the ongoing tussle over whether Bachmann is lying or delusional, these “sycophant” remarks help the delusional side. I know she makes up these things, but it’s so obviously unbelievable, that she must believe it.

Well, OK, maybe she doesn’t know what a “sycophant” is.

And whom, exactly, trusts anything at all that Mrs. Bachmann says?

Partisan hack Bachmann. Put a sock in it.
I’m tired of both sides of the political aisle, but the Pubs are getting old hearing their constant criticisms and not offering any plans. Anyone can play that game, Bachmann.

Funny she should use the word Sycophant, it’s her defining trait.

How do we let all the people from Woodbury, Oakdale etc that I met at the rally know they are Sycophants? Does this story even get any play out there or does the SPP block this?

Keep up the good work Michele, there is no need to fact check your assertions as I’m sure the voices inside your empty head have plenty to say. BTW did you take your meds today? no? I thought not.
