Warning signs: Why you might get arrested for carrying a ‘McCain=Bush’ poster at the RNC

On Monday, 61-year-old Carol Kreck was given a ticket for trespassing and removed from the outdoor city-owned premises where John McCain was holding a Town Hall meeting in Denver. Police told her that if she returned to the front of the plaza, she would be arrested.
Aside from the fact that she was on public property and not creating a nuisance, Kreck makes another important point about how odd it was that the police and Secret Service tried to thwart her freedom of expression: "It says, ‘McCain equals Bush," she says, holding up her sign for the camera. "Why is that offensive? Why would Republicans who voted for Bush find that offensive?"
