St. Paul mayoral contest: Coleman, Ng advance to general election

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman received nearly 70 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s four-candidate primary contest. The Democratic incumbent will face Eva Ng in the general election. Ng, who has been endorsed by the local Republican party, garnered support from just over 25 percent of voters.
“I’m humbled by the show of strong support from neighbors all over the city and honored by the vote of confidence in all the work that we’ve done over the last four years,” said Coleman in a statement about the results. “When I first took office, I pledged to hold an open and honest conversation about the challenges that we faced, and together, we’ve succeeded in changing the way we do business in our city. I’m pleased that the voters of Saint Paul have taken this first, big step to continue moving Saint Paul forward.”
Perennial candidates Sharon Anderson and Bill Dahn each attracted support from less than five percent of voters. Fewer than 12,000 people voted in the low-profile primary.

Mike,
You are so eager to ejaculate your bad attitude, you can’t take the time to check your two line posting for spelling and grammar. Stop clowning with everyone else’s time with your totally unoriginal comments. I’m throwing your bum’s comment out.
Not that I’m a fan of Coleman, but I find it amusing that because Eva is running her campaign like a “free” market worshiping anti-tax businesswoman, instead of a demonic socialist lazy government worker, by her own standards she should already be fired for being incompetent.
What kind of smart businesswoman would be spending ANY money on a venture that would be hard to accomplish even if she had adequate funding. It’s called throwing good money after bad.
I can only imagine what she would buy colorful signs promoting her pluckiness with the remaining tax dollars Saint Paul would have after she cuts most of our basic necessary services because she wouldn’t raise more revenue.
