The 1960s-as-bogeyman figured prominently in GOP attacks on Bill Clinton and the Democrats in 1992 and 1996, but the ’60s–and the Vietnam War–were much more an issue in the living memory of voters a decade and a half ago than now. Can John McCain really use them to make hay against an opponent who was still pre-pubescent when the ’60s ended? We’ll see.
As for media placements, Ed O’Keefe of the WashPost’s Channel ‘08 blog writes that the one-minute ad “will be cycled into the campaign’s national ad buy, airing on national cable networks and on broadcast stations in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C.(in order to reach voters in Northern Virginia) and Wisconsin, according to a campaign source.”

I think the main point to take away from this ad is how much time is spent on images (especially close-ups) of McCain that were NOT taken in the last couple of years. He’s a fool.
