Lets look back at the good old days of the Petter's mess.

By Karl Bremer

If Tim Pawlenty decides to run for President of the United States, at some point he’s going to have to explain his relationship with campaign contributor, Tom Petters associate and convicted money-launderer/cocaine-and-gun runner Frank Vennes Jr.

Piling on you say? Well DUH! ACORN has stepped in the big pile of fecal matter here, and Pawlenty wants to make sure everyone sees him saying "Don't get any on the carpet!" - even though he does not know where the funding comes from.

Funny and sad at the same time. Does this mean T-Paw is a bit opportunistic? Absolutely! Does it mean ACORN is worthless agency siphoning money out of taxpayers? Um, the jury is still out on that one. Weighing the good done against the few bad apples sure to take advantage of a loophole? I think ACORN might have its heart still in place, even if it has egg in its face, er, I mean feces on their shoes.

Wouldn't it be fun if the consequence of cutting off ACORN's funding was the government needed to start a new program? Now that it can't just be a grant to a non-profit...

ACORN could do better so they’re not such low-hanging fruit for political conservatives to feast on.

Well, yeah; the hooker stuff is really, really embarrassing, isn't it?

Now the San Diego ACORN offices have been caught out; see http://biggovernment.com/2009/09/17/acorn-video-prostitution-scandal-in-san-diego-ca.

Wonder if the filmmakers made it to Minneapolis . . .

Pawlenty is just another Bush. Shooting from the hip and not checking facts. ACORN does not receive funding from Minnesota. There is a related post at http://iamsoannoyed.com/?page_id=588

WTFCI, I took note of that angle in the initial post (linked above at "letter" and here) about the governor's letter. You're right though, he sure wasn't taking any chances.

Mr. Pawlenty clearly wants the conservative base, and he has to speak on every issue Republicans raise to get his national public exposure elevated - expect him to be very chatty going forward, what ever the issue

Maybe you missed this angle, but perhaps the Governor doesn't want to take a chance on learning if ACORN funds have been funneled around the country to aid and abet prostitution.
