Lisa seems to have fallen into the trap of becoming the office of the City Councilperson instead of SERVING in the office of City Councilperson. At one time she was a strong advocate for her constituents and a hardworking policymaker. In the past few years she's created a cult of personality around herself. We are going to see more lawsuits like this and she is going to cost taxpayers a lot of money in the end.

Lisa Goodman has been silent in on of the most important issues affecting this district. Mainly the building of LRT on the Kenilworth trail that will eliminate a big recreational facility in the city of Minneapolis. She shows little concern for the issues affecting the future of the ward unless it serves her short term political agenda. Time to select somebody new.

Lisa Goodman has been the most active and educated councilmember on the Minneapolis City Council in years. Her ability to envision a future, sustainable and beautiful city along with her understanding of protecting and preserving what is left of Minneapolis' past has been critical to our city's current success. To fault her for supporting her ward's constituents is without a doubt a low point in city politics. Developers, especially those from outside the city, can no longer view Minneapolis as a place to dump their poor quality, poorly designed product and then flee to the suburbs. I hope Councilmember Goodman fights this developers charges and this whole absurd waste of taxpayer money and court energy is dismissed. I know I will be voting for Councilmember Goodman in the upcoming elections. I hope if you're in the Seventh Ward, you will be too.

Lisa Goodman stood up and voiced her concerns for the neighborhoods she represents. There's nothing wrong with height limits. She is a great counsel member. The problem sounds like the so called judge failed to get elected and sides with a contractor. Where is his ethics? Carol Becker needs to deal with cuts in areas that are not credible. Why spend the tax payers dollars on this office. Unfortunately there's nothing no one can do with the rising property assessments and taxes. Thats clealy life. My vote is for Lisa Goodman.

Judge Aldrich, who ran unsuccessfully for City Council many years ago and still has sour grapes over it, created the procedural due process argument for Brad Hoyt. It was not part of Hoyt's original lawsuit, but once Aldrich thought it up and allowed Hoyt to amend his suit, he had to be in favor of it, didn't he? Aldrich has had a bee in his bonnet for years about "aldemanic privilege" but even he could find a way to rule in favor of Hoyt's claims related to substantive due process or equal protection. This case will set a very dangerous precedent if it means that our elected officials cannot tell us how they plan to vote before they actually have to cast that vote.

In response to Carol Becker: Becker ran city-wide and if she got as many votes in all 13 wards as Goodman received in the 7th Ward, she would have had more than twice as many votes as she actually got. Is that the kind of math she uses on the Board of Estimate and Taxation?

Lisa Good man wants to eliminate the Board of Estimate because no one knows who they are. The Board of Estimate is made up of the following obscure people: the Mayor, the Council President, the Chair of the Ways and Means Committee and a Park Board member.

There are two independently elected people on the Board who function as referees when the folks listed above can't agree. I am one of them. It may be me that she is referring to when she says that no one knows who these folks are. It would be helpful to note that in 2005, Lisa got elected with 5,070 votes while I got elected with 31,828 votes. So it is debatable which of us are more obscure.

The board of Estimate must stay it is a true check on the power of city council. People should vote no on RT Ryback’s and Lisa Goodman’s attempt to destroy a very valuable board. If you believe in checks and balances you must vote against RT Ryback and Lisa Goodman. The Minnesota Independent did not give Lisa Goodman credit for destroying NRP either. If transparency in Government is important to you vote against Lisa Goodman. If you are happy with your property taxes going up every year than please re-elect Lisa Goodman. If you think that property assessments are good thing then vote for Lisa Goodman.
