I'm really ambivalent about it.

I confess, I did not take it upon myself to stop at every big corporation's booth and ask them what they do for their employees. I did pick up info and business cards from a few booths for products, services, and vendors that I didn't know about before. The parade seemed to be evenly split between corporations, churches, politicians, and "movements" (such as Revolting Queers).

Having not attended any other cities' Pride celebrations, I have nothing to compare it to, except that I keep hearing ours is too corporate and doesn't have enough "movements."

So yeah, you can't have much of a Pride without the corporations, but I felt dirty being so crassly marketed to. *shrug*

So, when corporations accept us as employees, providing us the ability to have health insurance coverage and wealth benefits for our families...actually recognizing our families by participating in our celebration, this is bad? Being accepted and given equal status is what we have worked for, for many, many years. I am proud to work for a company that accepts LGBT employees and actually sponsors the Pride weekend as well as other events throughout the year. I am proud of Target, Best Buy, CVS, REI and other companies for being a part of Pride. The alternatives are companies like Home Depot and Becker Furniture Mart that contribute to homophobics like Michele Bachmann and John Kline.
