am.mn logoIt’s becoming standard poli-sci practice: watch when U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann applauds. Former Minnesota journo (and now “The Hill” editor) Albert Eisele did it for President Obama’s Sept. 9 address to Congress and was aghast at Bachmann’s feeble “patty-cake applause.” On Friday Smart Politics’ Eric Ostermeier applied the method to Rep. Ron Paul’s pronouncements at the University of Minnesota and discerned in Bachmann’s clapping pattern support for Paul’s more libertarian stances — and even a 2012 presidential run for Paul.
