Someone alert the Republican Party of Minnesota: A campaign sign for St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman has sprouted in the grass outside Minneapolis’ South High School.

Coleman’s campaign activities beyond St. Paul’s borders have drawn a complaint from the state GOP, who allege he’s running for governor but reporting travel and other expenses as part of his mayoral re-election campaign.

Coleman’s campaign signs don’t say what he’s running for. It’s also unclear what business his sign has in the grass outside Minneapolis South. The school is only a matter of blocks from the site of an Aug. 28 governor-candidate forum that Coleman attended.

It is probably left over from the DFL State Central Committee Meeting this weekend that was held at South. There were many Coleman signs there on Saturday.
