The Minnesota Historical Society’s new site, Placeography, is likely to make a Minnesota-history buff out of anyone who browses its pages. Placeography is a wiki, which allows anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content on any of its pages. The Minnesota Historical Society hopes this engaging platform will encourage people to "share information or learn about the history of a house, building, structure, site, natural feature, or other place that has a personal connection to them."

Placeography already contains an amazing amount of information on Minnesota buildings, historic sites, structures, cities and neighborhoods from around Minnesota. The "tours" category features entries from the St. Paul gangster history tour, the St. Paul labor history tour, two Dayton’s bluff tours, and a Summit Avenue tour while the architects features those responsible for many of the places found on Placeography.
