Last night the House voted, by a 268-155 margin, to allocate an additional $162.5-billion in funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The measure will provide funding through the end of President Bush’s term.
The Minnesota delegation was split on the measure. Reps. Betty McCollum, Keith Ellison and James Oberstar voted against the package, while Collin Peterson and Tim Walz supported it. All three Republican legislators backed the funding. The Senate is slated to consider the measure next week. If ultimately enacted Congress will have allocated roughly $800billion for the two wars.

I understand the need to support the troops while they are there, but I do not want them guarding oil spigots. Not only do we need to reclaim government, but we also need to reclaim our military from freeloaders like Halliburton.
Dem’s need to grow a spine and impeach and imprison Bushco and freeze the family’s assets.

Wow! It’s a good thing the voters who are sick of spending trillions on war and killing people helped the Democrats gain control of Congress in 2006.
