That may not be a lie, despite the obvious green screen – I do believe that both the senator and his wife WERE in the kitchen of their home, which happens to be where the commercial was filmed. Perhaps not at the same time, but I do believe they have both been in that kitchen.

Also, what's up with the snow on the ground in that last frame? I thought all candidates were aware of who was standing (or what season it was) behind them?
