am.mn logoAl Franken was one of 30 Democratic U.S. senators to sign a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid, demanding a public option in health-care reform. “Minnesotans I’ve talked to … are telling me to fight for a public health insurance option,” Franken said. One Minnesotan he apparently didn’t talk to: Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who didn’t sign the letter.

I am shocked! Ms. Klobuchar is playing with fire here. She will be hard pressed to receive support from any Progressive when she falls in line with the right wing nuts jobs as she did on this. How sad.

Thankfully, we have that wonderful man, Mr. Franken, to guide us now. But as Mr. Franken has said before, the Public Option is only the beginning. We need to get to a Single Payer system where health care becomes a right for all in this country. Not a privledge for the wealthy few who can afford it.

It’s totally brave how Sen. Franken is standing up to the big business war machine fighting for our rights on health care. It’s super lame that I should have to pay for it myself. Family pets don’t pay for themselves, they have an owner to do it for them. I want an owner to take care of me. Do we live in a country that values pets over people? We should have freedom to have free health care.
Like the poster above said, it’s not right that such a small fraction of people living here are able to afford insurance. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone that can afford their own insurance. I had to watch my cable tv and look on my high speed internet connection to find anyone. I took breaks during my search by playing video games in which I own and drove around in my car to just clear my head.
After that I smoked a pack of Camel Lights, which I do every day anyway.
Man I hate that fact I’m not one of the privledged wealthy few that can afford insurance.
