It disappoints me to see so many people assuming that this author is a biased liberal who is attacking Christianity. Christianity in the U.S. is highly hypocritical, egotistical, and self-serving. The majority of the Christians I’ve run across at church and outside of church think they are better than everyone else and are, in fact, superior to the poor and others who are less fortunate than they (whether or not they openly admit this). Their politics and philosophy make this clear.

The social gospel of Martin Luther King and others like him is the closest we’ve come to a true understanding of the nature of Christianity in the U.S. Christianity has been perverted into a cult that worships a crucified Jesus, instead of a community of believers who attempt to follow his example.

Liberals can be, and are, Christians. People who oversimplify issues into liberal/conservative attacks are misinformed and, sadly, ignorant. This is clear when one looks at the misspellings, grammar mistakes, and otherwise poor writing of many of those who have commented on this post. Instead of complaining about books, you might try to actually read them.

This group IS the egotistical manifestation of: an anti-christ. It is so sad to see that our government has been so undermined by mentally deficient ego maniacs who consider themselves to be Prophets of our Time. Are these people on drugs? They are treasonist. They are not American’s. They are NAZI’s. And the taxpayers are sitting back on their pathetic asses, complacent and apathetic asses, and not demanding a full investigation into the intentional undermining of our Democracy…our freedom…..and our true relgious rights.

These screwballs are in violation of the USA PATRIOT”S ACT. Undermining the Constitution of the United States is a violation of Federal Law. They should be tried for TREASON.

Demeaning other religions in a country based on religious freedoms? (against Buddhist-Hindus and every other sect of NORMAL-humanist-moral-spiritual teachings) Insighting religious terrorism? Pandering Hitler…..hello! They are NAZI’s.

I just saw Sharlet on CSpan and he sounds compleatly unbiased. He does have some very interesting stories about this group and some very chilling stories about the threats he has received since the book was published.

Militant right-wing fundamentalism?
Are we talking Christianity or Islam?
This book sounds more like an attack by a liberal author on Christianity rather than an unbiased, well researched book. Disappointing since the topic sounds like it could have been a good book.

It does'nt surprise me, in a country where the likes of Fred Phelps can exist and cults thrive in Texas towns, does it really surprise anybody that this sort of conspiricy can flourish in the top echelons of the us goverment.
