Franken — Sloppy campaigner?

Dogged by bad press, Senate candidate Al Franken hasn’t put his best foot forward so far. Between tax issues that took too long to address and old writings that just wouldn’t get out of the news cycle, many agree that the campaign stumbled on the road to the endorsement.  But should Franken have seen this coming? A rerun of a Minneapolis Observer piece from 2004 says yes. When the Observer reporter asked Franken, then a radio host, about a possible Senate run, and asked what type of campaigner he would be, Franken responded with an eerily accurate, "Well, a sloppy one, I guess."
