Bachmann is proof positive of the mendaciousness of the Extreme Right. Bachmann's false piety, along with her voracious greed for continued power, demonstrate why so many Reactionaries of her type have such angst. They are torn by their base human instincts and their stated loftiness. In the end, Bachmann is a lonely, pitiful homo sapien, crammed full of opposing forces that tear at her soul. Perhaps if Governor Perpich had allowed booze on the Winona State campus during Bachmann's “exploratory” phase, she would not have grown to become the Facist she has. Unfortunately, one cannot unring the bell and thus we are forced to witness Bachmann's continued and continual hypocrisy unfold. Please, Dear Lord, grant Bachmann the peace of mind she sorely requires.

That is exactly the point of the original piece on DumpBachmann.com: While Bachmann's official GOP bio has her finding God and a mission of abortion-clinic protesting at that time, she was at the same time lobbying for liquor on campus. Bachmann was honing her hypocritical skills even in 1977.

Michele's possible environment:

I think in 1976 the minimum drinking age in MN was 18 years.
1977 19 years.
Prior to MN lowering the age to 18, it was 21.

Wisconsin's age was 18. Winona, MN is just across the Mississippi River from Wisconsin.

I'm no fan of Bachmann, but connecting her booze campaign in college to donation in this decade is a bit of a stretch. It might be legitimate to point out that someone who parades herself as so religious takes money from the alcohol industry, though that might not conflict with her beliefs.
