Iowa's judiciary is just plain corny. From ruling that kids can strip in their clubs, to same sex marriage, to perpetrating fraud on citizens. Where is their moral compass ? In Scott CO. case LACE112272, "judges" engaged in fraud, deceit and constructive denial of due process of law. They sided with a child molester who claims that his neighbors rain drains, which are within city code and have been there since the house was built decades ago, are in an "Unnatural" position and were designed to injure a fence that was recently erected (against city code). Because the neighbor thought the truth is so obvious and that the triers of fact would hear her, she decided to exercise her right to self defense. What happened in Iowa needs to be shared. The "judges" said they wouldn't hear her numerous pleadings filed unless she paid an officer of the court protection money ! Is this not brazen extortion ? And they claim "Judicial Immunity" and there is NO oversight in sight. Maria has appealed to the Iowa Supreme Court, but, that has been more of the same. Please share this with whom it may concern.-Dr. Kenneth Tennant 563.355.7073

I think Paul's analysis is spot on. I think Iowa is tailor-made for TPaw, both because of his evangelical roots but also because of his retail politicking skills. Being able to talk at the lunch counter or in a family's living room is something that TPaw is very skilled at. That sounds like a winning combination to me.

All those responsible New Hampshire independents and Democrats
will take it upon themselves to vote for a traditional,
non-theocratic, Republican.

They are pretty astute. They get to see the candidates up close, and repeatedly. They do pay attention to the results left behind by people who have been in office.

In other words, they are Pawlenty's and Palin's worst nightmare, and will go for Romney in a heartbeat.

Tough call. Iowa Republicans are increasingly evangelical (almost rare when I lived there a quarter-century ago), but former governor Terry Branstad may run for governor again, and it's hard saying how his supporters would vote.

Frankly, I don't think Pawlenty will play well in Iowa, but the Republican caucuses are all about the base and the base is, increasingly, nuts. On the other hand, you have to be a little nutty to go out on a Monday night in Iowa in January.

This is why the Republicans will lose in 2012.
