This time, Ambinder doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The key to winning the GOP side of the Iowa Caucuses is to be sufficiently conservative while being engaging & while giving straight answers to Iowans’ questions.

Gov. Pawlenty can highlight the facts that he balanced Minnesota’s budget without raising taxes while proposing reforms that make sense.

Most importantly, Iowans will notice that his priorities are VERY SIMILAR to their priorities.

Pawlenty is not conservative, he’s a big government liberal. How else to explain his statement that “the era of small government is over.”
