Pawlenty endorses Hoffman over GOPer in New York race

Like fellow Minnesota Republican Michele Bachmann, Gov. Tim Pawlenty has now thrown his support behind Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in New York State’s special congressional election. When asked about the race in Washington last week, he refrained from answering, stating he didn’t know enough about the contest. Now that he does, he’s snubbing the endorsed GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava.
He told Red State:
“We cannot send more politicians to Washington who wear the Republican jersey on the campaign trail, but then vote like Democrats in Congress on issues like card check and taxes. After reviewing the candidates’ positions, I’m endorsing Doug Hoffman in New York’s special election. Doug understands the federal government needs to quit spending so much, will vote against tax increases, and protect key values like the right to vote in private in union elections.”

Yet Mr Pawlenty will seek the Republican nomination to be president. He just won’t support the party as a big tent.
Don’t believe anybody who suggests Tim Pawlenty is a moderate. That moderate part of his soul is long gone, if it was ever there in the first place

Woo hoo, I’m loving this, the wacky party has cut the mooring lines with the Republicans. It’s like Christmas in November.
