Editor’s Note: New platform, new commenting
Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 9:16 am
While Minnesota slept last night, we switched to a WordPress platform here at MnIndy. We like the functionality and expandability of WordPress and think it’ll serve us well. However, there’s one hangup: We need our readers to register for the commenting system Disqus. Your login info will allow you to comment at all Center for Independent Media sites as well as others that use Disqus (TV Newser, Unbeige, and many others). We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for signing up!

You may want to get a redirect going on your RSS feed too… otherwise you'll lose all your RSS readership.

Ditto to Aaron's comment. Anyone who reads you primarily via RSS without clicking through to the site – like, umm, me – is suddenly staring at an empty feed-reader.

Also, why are you asking readers to sign up for Disqus? Your comments above actually suggest it is required: “We need our readers to register” (although the “add new comment” block allows the semi-anon “Unclaimed” option). It is possible that not all readers may want their comments across multiple blogs aggregated by a single engine. It would honor transparency to provide an explanation.
