The unfortunate situation discussed here serves as yet another reminder that, even in this day and age and despite continuing legal and social advances, a large segment of society still regards gay men and women (among other minorities) as second-class citizens – or worse. That is the salient point of my recently released biographical novel, Broken Saint. It is based on my forty-year friendship with a gay man, and chronicles his internal and external struggles as he battles for acceptance – of himself and by others. More information is available at http://www.eloquentbooks.com/BrokenSaint.html or authorautobahn.webs.com/bookpeek.htm.

"The flier also accuses 'homosexuals' of working to 'sensor [sic] speech against homosexuality'"

Why can't bigots learn to spell?

The trend towards LGBT rights nationwide is something the "Christian" right cannot stop. The signing of the Hate Crimes Act yesterday is proof. So is the new HUD initiative which guarantees that "core housing programs are open to all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity."
