Jerome Corsi made his career writing falsehoods about Sen. John Kerry four years ago on behalf of the Swift Boaters, and now he’s back for another round of attacks — this time against Sen. Barack Obama in Obama Nation, a book the media is calling “vicious innuendo,” “an abomination” and “filled with falsehoods” and wild theories.
Corsi has taken heat for racist comments and appearances on white supremacy radio programs, for promoting conspiracy theories about a North American Union and the U.S. government’s sponsorship of the 9/11 attacks, and homophobic, anti-Semitic, anti-Islamic and anti-Catholic statements.
Yet his books have risen to No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list.
Before his career peddling smears, Corsi was involved in a scheme ripping off Minnesota investors, the Boston Globe reports.
In 1995, Corsi and a business partner convinced 20 Minnesota investors to give him money for Polish investments. That money disappeared and the FBI was called in to investigate. Though they didn’t find enough evidence to charge Corsi, several investors sued him, winning cases in Hennepin and Dodge counties.
But they weren’t able to collect from Corsi. He had reportedly transferred all his assets and funds to his wife’s name.

It's a sad day for the Star Tribune when this local story is reported by the BOSTON GLOBE, and even now hasn't been picked up by the Strib.
