- GOP 5th Congressional District endorsee Barb Davis White
The campaign of Barb Davis White went after the Republican National Committee and the Republican Party of Minnesota on Tuesday, criticizing the RNC’s failure to invite any African-American congressional candidates to speak at the Republican National Convention and complaining that the Minnesota GOP has been lax in supporting Davis White’s campaign. Davis White is the Republican Party’s endorsed candidate for the 5th Congressional District, which encompasses Minneapolis and several inner-ring suburbs.
In an email sent to the RNC and posted to the Independent Business News Network, Davis White’s press secretary, Don Allen, said that he had tried to get answers from the RNC numerous times as to why no African Americans are scheduled to speak at the RNC.
He wrote that he was stonewalled and, at least one time, threatened. He accused the party of discriminating: “This ’slave mentality thinking’ i.e.; ‘Be good you Black Republicans while our White friends are in town’ does not fly with me or the tools I have in place to distribute this message ‘top-of-mind’ to the general public and national news affiliates.”
Allen said that the local GOP has not been supportive of Davis White’s campaign. “Keith Ellison is not worried and rest assured that the Minnesota GOP will put no effort into an African American Republican candidate for Congress in Minnesota with the current leadership of the GOP,” he wrote.
He charged the party with jeopardizing the 5th District: “Again, and for the last time — I will ask, what African American Congressional Candidates have been scheduled to speak at the RNC? What do we really have to loose, besides Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District?”
Minnesota’s 5th District is heavily Democratic and has voted for the DFL candidate since 1963.

Even though I'm not a big “R” fan, this is more about equity than politics and I am certainly a supporter of equity. Stay on 'em, make them explain why.

Isn't it more likely that White is not getting any support because she has not reasonable chance in CD5? Shouldn't the GOP be spending its money in more competitive races?

“the Minnesota GOP will put no effort into an African American Republican candidate for Congress in Minnesota with the current leadership of the GOP”
Allen is an idiot. The leadership doesn't put money into races where we don't stand a chance, like the 5th district. Playing the victim card is very unbecoming for a GOP candidate – that's a DFL tactic.

Go Barb!
I don't believe for a second that it is the skin color of anyone with regard to the Republican party. It is the conservatism or failure to tow the ” I want to win by being a Democrat sycophant” line being put out by the blue bloods. In other words it is the POLITICS stupid. I know other candidates (white) that have received little to no support from the Party because they are conservative, or Paulites or what ever, they aren't towing the line put out by the McCain camp.
It has been a real interesting experience to be involved in politics this year. I would whole-heartedly recommend you all go for it. After all it is quintessentially American to do so. Otherwise you end up with Tyrants like the messiah.

Has Barb Davis White backed off of her support for Ron Paul, and is now unconditionally supporting John McCain? If not, that may be a reason for any lack of enthusiasm on the part of the RNC and MNGOP.

I interviewed this woman at the CNN/Youtube debate viewing party sponsored by “The Patriot”. She calls herself a Ron Paul conservative in one sentence and then in the next sentence says we need to be in Iraq on Israel's behalf because they are the chosen people. Shouldn't be too hard for Keith to defeat.
