Video: Anti-immigrant speaker decries European onslaught at tea party rally

Picture 36When “Robert Erickson” took to the podium at a small anti-immigration rally at the Capitol in St. Paul, his message was well received by the crowd of 50 or 60 people. He drew cheers when he proposed sealing up the borders and advocated for “tougher immigration laws to send these people back where they came from.” And he vowed to “protect the sovereignty of real Americans.” But eventually the real target of his anti-immigrant speech became clear:

“Let’s send these European immigrants back where they came from! I don’t care if they are Polish, Irish, English, Italian, or Norwegian! European immigrants are responsible for the most violent and heinous crimes in the history of the world, including genocide and slavery!”

If the Yes Men–style gag was lost on some of the rally’s attendees, it shouldn’t have been by the end, when Erickson’s concluded by leading the crowd in chants of “Columbus, go home!”

Here’s video of Saturday’s “Tea Party Against Amnesty and Illegal Immigration,” which has gotten national attention at The Atlantic, Crooks & Liars and ThinkProgress and locally at Bluestem Prairie and Twin Cities Indymedia.

Here’s Bluestem Prairie’s video of Erickson’s speech:

DJ Danielson at I Don’t Hate America deserves a lot of credit for moving this story, too.

It shows the priceless crowd reaction to Robert’s speech and weird weird interactions w/ Ruthie, Sue and the other teabaggers. Columbus go home!

Paul Schmelzer: good to see this Soros-funded pseudo-paper standing up for anti-American racism:

24: I’m not standing up for anything. Just reporting.

Also, “America” is not a race.

What a blast this was to watch.

I posted on it a few days back, and “Erickson” stopped by and dropped a link to his new vid.

Robert you really did not punk Ruthie you punk’d yourself and American citizens.. Did you stay long enough to hear my speech. Heidi Huckleberry of EQUAL ENIUM? WHICH EQUAL ENIUM stands for equal justice in the new millenium. Maybe if you would have listened to me.. you would not be raving about how you punkd someone like that.. by the way that was very immature do infiltrate another’s rally.. to start.. # 2 not to enforce our laws equally including illegal immigrants crimes.. is discriminatory.. to all citizens no matter what race??? and this bit about the indian’s..and how Europeans (whites) are illegal immigrants really has no context in this current battle of immigration issues..
we have laws and can not single people out for enforcement or not enforcing(our laws).. that is discrimination.. what happend in the beginning of our country is not correct argument of suupporting current day immigration reform.. Becouse the issues that come with that time in our history are many.. we have laws.. that we follow.. do you not want any laws? if so, who and how do we enforce? Also what about the African American?? these so called jobs they do we wont.. what about African Americans who are more disinfranchised now than ever?/ or maybe they arent your selected group to advocate for??? you seriously need to examine your views on race and discrimination and welcome you to a fair debate about it.

Heidi, relax. We know it hurts to get punk’d. Best to ruminate on it, cry, rant, examine your views on race, etc—in private. (PS, try paragraph breaks, too. That might better help disguise the cognitive mayhem playing out in your thinking.)
