Mike Johanns (R-Neb.), a co-sponsor of the amendment. &#039;It’s impossible.&#039;&quot; is specious. This is the barrier that, despite those who want a firm line drawn between church and state, these very same conservatives have argued can be preserved when it comes to taxpayer funding of religious schools and social organizations.  Ask Sen. Johanns and the others who object if it would be acceptable for insurance providers to use the same model as organizations such as Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services use to keep government funding from being used for their religious activities!</description>
