Quist gets national attention for use of ‘terror exploitation machine’

First Congressional District candidate Allen Quist is building his national profile — among left-leaning news outlets. His comment, first reported by the Minnesota Independent, that defeating liberals is a bigger “battle” than fighting terrorism has been picked up by the Huffington Post, ThinkProgress, Talking Points Memo, Crooks & Liars, and a slew of others. And last night, the St. Peter Republican led off a segment on Rachel Maddow’s MNSBC show about GOP candidates hoping to use what she dubs the “terror exploitation machine” to win election.
At the Wabasha County Republicans Christmas party on Dec. 7, Quist said, in part:
“Our country is being destroyed. Every generation has had to fight the fight for freedom… Terrorism? Yes. That’s not the big battle. The big battle is in D.C. with the radicals. They aren’t liberals. They are radicals. Obama, Pelosi, Walz: They’re not liberals, they’re radicals. They are destroying our country.”

Quist is one of at three colorful Republicans challenging U.S. Rep. Tim Walz in southern Minnesota: Jim Hagedorn was caught scrubbing blog posts deemed racist and homophobic, and Randy Demmer decries Walz’s “culture of dependency” after accepting $75,000 in farm subsidies.

Unfortunately, Quist is correct.
Rethugs ARE exploiting terror, in a wide variety of ways.
So are Dems, though.
Where are the anti-war dems???
I still cannot find them…
they hide???

It’s sad Mr. Quist, political candidate, has the audacity to accuse hard-working, loyal, patriotic American public servants of being a greater threat to American than foreign terrorists. To disagree with Mr. Quist on any policy matter clearly makes you a traitor to the country, in his thinking.
And that kind of extremist fiction is what passes for political conversation from right-wing, off-the-cliff types like, Quist, Parry, Bachmann, Palin, Limbaugh, Beck
These people would benefit if they realized they don’t have a stranglehold on patriotism. Those of us with different political views love America just as much.
And the recent right-wing track record on governing (see Bush 43′s presidency) suggests that when they are anti-government, they really mean it – they’d rather it fail than serve the public welfare. So when someone is running for public office by running against effective governance, please believe them and reject their incompetence approach to governing.
