Mike Parry, the Republican candidate running to fill the seat of Sen. Dick Day in the District 26 special election, denied he erased any updates on his Twitter account and defended a tweet in which he called President Barack Obama a “Power Hungry Arrogant Black Man.” To that description, he added “angry,” as well.

“I know specifically about what you’re talking about — the tweet that I had sent using my opinion and fact,” Parry told the Waseca County News on Tuesday. “My opinion is that our president is arrogant and angry. The fact is that he is a black man. Now if the Democratic Party and the liberals want to take my opinion and the fact and mix it together and use it to bring a bad light about me and keep them away from discussing the real issues they can do that all they want. They’re grasping for straws.”

parrytweetAnother tweet that raised some questions was one on May 6 which asked, “what’s with Dems and Pedophiles?” That tweet appears to coincide with the passing of the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Act, which the religious right often referred to as the “Pedophile Protection Act.”

Parry denied that he wrote the tweet, according to the Waseca County News.

“I would think that’s wrong. If it’s on my account I wouldn’t know how that one got on there,” he said. He also said he did not erase any tweets.

Sen. Dick Day, who retired from his seat to become a lobbyist for state-sponsored gambling interests, endorsed Parry on Tuesday.

Ugly racism and fear mongering. Is this a great country or what?

“If it’s on my account I wouldn’t know how that one got on there”

Another gem from the Party of Personal Responsibility (“no, no- not OURS…we’re all about THEIR personal responsibility!”).

mike parry is just another angry white man who got caught with his pants down for tweeting stupid things. Now he lies about it. Gee, Mike, your the only one with access to your twitter account to post anything – try convincing us that Obama put those tweets there.
How can you lie about all the tweets being erased when people have copies of everything ever put on your account? Do you think the voters in your district are stupider than you appear to be?

Parry is trying to promote another negative sterotype of African American men, of whom my father was one. My father was married to one woman, had a good job, didn’t drink, stopped smoking because we pestered him about it, was a deacon in the church, took care of us and our mother, and I never recall seeing him and my mom argue in front of us. In fact, I don’t ever recall my dad getting angry and blowing his top about anything.

Parry is pandering to the beliefs of the people who will most likely vote for him. If he had any solutions, he’d be talking about policy issues, not making ad hominem attacks. Loser.

Just what we need, another weak kneed politician, who, given a choice between ‘owning’ his words and accepting responsibility, chose instead to lie, and blame an anonymous somebody for hacking his Tweeter account.
I’m sure he has the emails to Twitter, relative to his ‘hacked’ account saved, and will be happy to share them with an enterprising young reporter. Otherwise, it’s ‘man up’ time.

“Angry power hungry arrogant black man” might be his opinion, but it certainly doesn’t show any maturity on his part, especially since it was on a social network site. Come on now, the man is pushing 60, he’s trying to run for a Senate seat, doesn’t he have better things to do than tweet about whatever he thinks is wrong with the country?

He is a joke…and perhaps more importantly: a loser.

Yeah, what ABOUT those dems and pedophiles? That nasty old Mark Foley … Oh wait, he’s a republican.

Mike Parry is a racist. That’s really all that needs to be said.

With his history of being in law enforcement you have to wonder how many innocent minorities he he falsely arrested. What a sad excuse for a human being. He sure got a ton of negative comments on the huff post!

Angry black man was a commonly used put-down by conservative whites during the 60′s to scare whites about racial equality.

Parry asserts that Obama is a black man. I don’t know how one should draw lines around “race” since it is a social construction more than anything, but you have to accept that Obama is just as white as he is black in heritage. So if you call him an angry black man, you’re missing half of the story at best.

And where is all that anger Parry identified? It’s the Republicans who seem to froth at the mouth about every policy initiative intended to help Americans live well and prosper. Obama seems unusually cool under pressure – unlike the stunned-looking GW Bush who was reading books to kids when he learned of 9/11 … and had no reaction for minutes …

This racist pig should not be allowed to run for office in the great State of Minnesota. We are far better than to let someone who speaks like that run for office.

If he thinks our President is angry, wait until he meets up with the DFL voting block. We will show him anger.

Just the fact that he opens his mouth and speaks in such an ignorant manner should disqualify him from ever being allowed to run for office.
