Bachmann’s Declaration of Health Care Independence ‘leaked’
Monday, January 25, 2010 at 5:52 pm
It’s intended to help the GOP drop the “party of no” moniker, but Politico’s Glenn Thrush notes that a “leaked” copy of Rep. Michele Bachmann’s “Declaration of Health Care Independence” — intended to be revealed at a Wednesday press conference, according to a note on the document — is “mostly a litany of Bachmann’s favorite pledges to fight socialized medicine and uphold the Constitution.”
Thrush says the declaration, distributed to GOP insiders, said, “PLEASE DO NOT SEND THIS TO ANYONE. The document is to be embargoed until after the press conference on Wednesday. Let me know if you any questions!”
But as the Star Tribune reported, the document was released Monday.

I can’t think of anything more unfair than to give today’s home buyer’s thousands of dollars to buy a new house when the interest rates are as low as they are already. I also thought it was near criminal to decide some people could get a discount on their cars as well.
I paid for my house in full by working two to three hobs a week, in only 8 years and had to make payments on it for three years that did not apply to the mortgage, as if I was a renter. I was thrilled to only have 8% interest and by the time it had dropped to 5% I had only three years to pay left which, by that time, are almost totally principle payments; making remortgaging useless and wasteful. Had I the sense to buy a $300,000 home instead of a $100,000 one, I could have had the public pay for most of it and all I would have had to do was to quit making payment on it.
Isn’t socialism great? Problem is, it pays off mostly to deadbeats and those buying more than they can pay for, as demonstrated by our president, the smoker who knows better for the rest of us – especially our health.
