For my friend Laura: You’re right, in part. Saving souls is what Christians would like to see happen, a good thing hopefully included in ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. And both our house and our senate candidate [me] spoke at our caucus 2-2-10, and we included quotes from the Bible with values designed to save our culture, if not our souls. But ‘soul saving’ is not what politicians can do, or what humans can do, for that matter–it’s what God does. To paraphrase: ‘You can lead a soul to water but you can’t make him drink or think.’ It’s not our job to drink or think for him–it’s his or her choice. A sad comment from scripture states “My people perish for lack of knowledge…” a quote attributed to God, Himself, saying even He will not force or form a relationship between an unwilling human and Himself. Only God can create a newborn believer out of a ‘wannabe’ believer, birthing one who clings to and trusts in Jesus Christ as Savior. I have long really liked, respected and admired Laura too much to “lambast” her partial recall of some local events. She often humbly states she’s ‘a newbie’–not anymore, right Laura? I took time to know her and invited her to run for my house district’s [HD50A] treasurer–for good fiscal reasons. I chaired HD50A from June 2008 to April 2009–long enough to start some activism and reform of our area with an improved constitution. All that while the Republicans here got some unasked for Tea Party type kick in the pants, so to speak! We got into the fray. I can admit apathy abated when I became chair, with some Tea Party help and with Ron Paul’s personal visit. Apathy here continues to be abated, for strong and right reasons, involving more citizens, who are way above average! During my leadership we got the first ‘soul’ vetted, funded and elected to the school board in eons…and it was a God-saved soul, too, we noted! Treasurer Laura is a treasure, and has a strong ability to keep our financial records in order. She has every right not to save souls–but she has saved and will save us dollars. True, I was not re-elected to HD50A as chair. I strongly supported another candidate, even though I let my name be placed on the ballot. Placing my name into that mix caused a flurry of involvement–for some reason. We elected a new chair who recently ‘mismanaged’ my blog quotation because he didn’t research the actual quotes given to him by Andy B, apparently. But he’s human, and thoroughly engaged in winning seats in the 2010 election. Our new chair is looking for strong leaders and winners. I say,look my way–I’m betting he votes for me, and that Laura will,too–if they expect to actually win Senate District 50A back for ‘we the people’. The people here pay and pay–and now are also paying attention! One by one we win choose to win seats back, not for the Republicans or the Democrats or the Tea Party, but only for the people of our area–who can believe again in 2010, who will vote to get back some respect “for the people” in Senate District 50.

Rae is also permitted to use her first amendment right, however skewed her views or her presentation. The GOP and specificaly the GOP in SD50, can not, and do not, sensor speech or views.

A precinct chair is little more than a block captain in this context. She has no executive vote, chairs no committee and in my view, has no chance of being endorsed.

This is a free and open process and we have taken great pains to do a lot of outreach to every religion, and culture. I feel like I have been personally accused of holding her views, and I am deeply offended!

We have a convention on Thursday the 18th, and THEN we have our endorsing convention on March 20th. I sure hope there is the follow-up on how sane our delegates are! We are far more interested in out-of-control spending, personal freedoms (this includes religous freedom) and the job-killing taxes that are coming our way! The main talk that I heard at caucus was the outrageous waste in government, the high property taxes and the intrusion of government into our lives. Saving souls wasn’t on the ballot.

Baloney. The quote from Carleton Crawford makes that clear.

The laundry list is proof of prominence and popularity? Based on what? Is that conneaction supported in some other part of the story that only you can read?

Perhaps you’re under the mistaken assumption that Anderson’s endorsement from 2006 is still in effect. It is not. She is not the currently-endorsed SD50 GOP candidate to face Chaudhary. As of today, there is no endorsed 2010 GOP candidate to face Chaudhary.

She receives no support, financial or otherwise, as a result of her 2006 endorsement. As far as the 2010 endorsement goes, she’s on the same footing as anyone else who wishes to run; she’s not at the front of any imagined line of aspirants.

Her position as a precinct chair is also irrelevant in relation to the SD50 endorsement. It provides her no special standing, no “leg up”, no sort of “pre-approval” for endorsement. Like I said previously, being elected precinct chair in a GOP backwater like Fridley requires little more than a pulse. You want the job? You’re probably going to get it, for what it’s worth (nothing).
