Campaign finance numbers for Allen Quist, who is challenging Rep. Tim Walz in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional district, show the Republican having low cash flow for the last quarter of 2009.
Bluestem Prairie has the details:
The committee took in $37,103 in receipts, including an outstanding $4000 loan (or contribution, since the data in the report is conflicting) from the candidate, a reimbursed $200 loan from Quist’s treasurer Joe Droogsma and only $1803 in small contributions under $200. The campaign ended the year with $30781.37 cash on hand after spending $6321.63.
Quist, along with Tom Jim Hagedorn, state Rep. Randy Demmer and Frank McKinzie are vying for the Republican ticket to take on two-term DFL Rep. Tim Walz.

How is this bachmann clone raising any money? No ideas, no principles and no values.

Your story says “Tom Hagedorn” as one of the Republican candidates. I believe you should have his son, Jim Hagedorn, as the candidate.

How can you say this about Allen Quist? It’s obvious that you have never met him and know absolutely nothing about him! I’ve known Allen for over 25 years, he was my college professor, I’ve followed his state legislative career and was actively involved in his ’94 bid for Governor. There are few people who are more principled and who hold a higher standard of values then Allen Quist!
Allen also have been contributing many ideas thru EdWatch for years, the 1CD could do no better, they need to elect him as their next Congressman! Our state and our country need more people in Congress of the caliber of Allen Quist!

From a principled Alan Quist
:“Our country is being destroyed. Every generation has had to fight the fight for freedom… Terrorism? Yes. That’s not the big battle,” he said. “The big battle is in D.C. with the radicals. They aren’t liberals. They are radicals. Obama, Pelosi, Walz: They’re not liberals, they’re radicals. They are destroying our country.”
Quist also railed against the health care reform bill. “This is the most insidious, evil piece of legislation I have ever seen in my life… Every one of us has to be totally committed to killing this travesty… I have to kill this bill.”
Not only does he call the elected president a radical destroying our country, but he feels the need to personally deny countless Americans access to affordable health care.
We need Alan Quist as much as we need another Michelle Bachmann.
How did that ’94 campaign work out for you?
