ron_careyRon Carey, former chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota, has been hired as Rep. Michele Bachmann’s chief of staff. Carey replaces Michelle Marston, who left Bachmann’s staff in November.

Carey accompanied Bachmann at the State of the Union address last week. Carey was twice elected by Minnesota Republicans to lead the party in 2005 and 2007. He decided not to run for reelection in 2009.

The hiring of Carey makes the third chief of staff replacement in the last year: Rich Dunn was replaced by Marston last February.
