klobucharRep. Michele Bachmann and Sen. Amy Klobuchar are among the members of Minnesota’s Congressional delegation who attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on Thursday morning. As co-chair of the event, Klobuchar got some laughs, while Bachmann turned to Pat Robertson’s CBN News to define the event strictly in Christian terms.

“The whole focus of this event is Jesus Christ, and we share our faith around the table and usually it’s with people from all around the world,” Bachmann told CBN. “I think it’s important people acquaint themselves with our nation’s history and not forget that in order for our nation to be strong, individuals have to be strong. And as members of Congress many of us find our strength in the Bible, in the Word of God.”

More of Bachmann:

Klobuchar got some laughs when she ribbed Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, for accidentally stepping to the podium with a ringing Blackberry. When the alarm on Hatch’s phone chimed, Klobuchar exclaimed, “It’s time for prayer!”
