PaulsenRep. Michele Bachmann is currently championing a Declaration of Health Care Independence (with the help of the conservative WorldNetDaily) that has garnered the support of 96 Republican House members. But missing from that list is Rep. Erik Paulsen.

Bachmann’s declaration states in part, “We the People reject the imposition upon us of a new, Washington-controlled system of government-run health care. We demand Constitutional protection of the right to make our own health decisions and our own health care choices free of government denials, bureaucratic red tape and greater intergenerational debt.”

Rep. John Kline has signed on to Bachmann’s document, and well over half the House Republican caucus in the House is on board.

Bachmann gave this message to voters on WorldNetDaily on Tuesday:

“They need to turn out of office people who agree with President Obama’s economic policies, and they need to replace them with people who agree with our founders and our Declaration of Independence and Constitution that we are a constitutional republic. We cannot drown our nation and our people in debt, and we can’t force upon them tax increases so egregious that we will never again know true prosperity.”

Okay – I have tried to give this woman room, but i just can’t anymore. She is just too far off from the real issues.

Bachmann’s position is scary. Her declaration is basically saying “we the people accept the debt increasing, coverage denying status quo”. She wants to remove medicare, medicaid, and social security and leave everything in the hands of the private sector….no denials? no red tape? Bachmann’s rhetoric is doing damage by misleading and obstucting real progress.

Mr. Paulsen understands and represents his 3d district better than Michele Bachmann understands or represents her 6th district
