joel-face-webJoel Demos is seeking the Republican endorsement to take on Rep. Keith Ellison. An assistant pastor at Christian Life Center, an apostolic church in Golden Valley, Demos earned a degree in Theology at Christian Life College in 2001.

Two Christian blogs are announcing his candidacy:

If you live in Minnesota and are not happy with Congressman Keith Ellison. There is another choice..

Joel Demos for Congress.

Keep an eye on this blog for more details, but if you are looking for change, for hope, for a new voice, and for fresh opinions – vote Joel Demos for Congress.

In addition, the Senate District 45 Republicans have listed Demos as a candidate for their upcoming conventions.

Also running in the 5th Congressional District: independent Lynne Torgerson and Barb Davis White, who was the GOP’s endorsed candidate against Ellison in 2008 but is seeking the Independence Party endorsement this year.

Demos could not be reached for comment.

As a big fan of Rep. Keith Ellison, I couldn’t be happier. An ultra-conservative pastor from a literal Bible-banging suburban church has a greater chance of being the next disciple than he does representing Minneapolis in Washington.

Isn’t it against the law to intermix religion and government?

This loser of a pastor is not a threat to the man who will be President of the US after the end of Mr. Obama’s 2nd term in 2016.

Dano,

There are people on youtube who watch videos from The Onion and believe they are real news.

T-Paw is a provocateur, parodying what he perceives to be misguided liberal views.

You are aware that The Onion is fiction, are you not?

Might some enlightened, worldly, intelletcual – sans religious idiocy – run at any time soon?

Here I have the american taliban vs the muslim hordes…sheesh!

Where’s a Jesse Ventura for the 5th district, I wonder?

ZNOFOB, are you sure you want to use Ventura as the example of an enlightened, worldly intellectual? He has a TV show and book pushing every nutty conspiracy theory he can find. How someone can think of Ellison as a Muslim horde escapes me.

Eric,
I am aware of the Onion and that’s exactly what I meant. I should have been more clear. Enjoy the weekend!

Before you call the man a ”loser of a pastor” – check his history. Look at the work he has been doing helping the community. Look him up on Facebook.

Jeremy – Ouch!! Be careful of the comments you make regarding a Conservative Christian running for office in the 5th District. There are more of us in Minneapolis than you obviously realize and we are starting to make our voices heard. And not all of us are fans of Keith Ellison. Don’t be surprised if you one day see Republicans winning some elections in Minneapolis.

Demos graduated in 2002 from CLC. Get your facts straight. I graduated with him. He’s a great guy. Takes great courage to do what he’s doing.

Take a look at Keith Ellison’s votiing record to really see who he is.
Demos is as fine a person that you will ever meet. Some day, America will wake up, and have a person that has great moral values, family values, and yes, faith in God, be a leader. People rant on this page like beleiving in the Bible is not acceptable, but being a Muslim is more so? Not, …Jeol had the courage to stand up for what he beleives in, and if he had the name recognition , and exposure Ellison had, he would have won. Never give up Joel, your time will come.
