Pawlenty endorses McCain, Blunt

Politico reports that Gov. Tim Pawlenty has backed Sen. John McCain for reelection in Arizona and Rep. Roy Blunt for Senate in Missouri. McCain is facing a fierce challenge from Tea Party candidate J.D. Hayworth. Pawlenty, who’s considered a contender for the 2012 Republican nomination for president, was on the shortlist of potential McCain runningmates in 2008, losing out to Sarah Palin.
Pawlenty announced his support for McCain on Missouri radio station 97.1 FM.
“I’ve known him for 20 years or more, and I respect him and know that he’s got a candidate in the primary, but yeah I do support Sen. McCain,” Pawlenty told St. Louis radio host Jamie Allman.
He reiterated that support on Minnesota Public Radio.
Pawlenty will also be backing Republican Rep. Roy Blunt for Missouri’s open Senate seat over state Sen. Chuck Purgason, who’s been angling for Tea Party support. Pawlenty will make that announcement at the Lincoln Days in St. Charles, Missouri on Friday (he released his remarks to the Missouri press ahead of time).

He is a neocon, who supports only neocons, and who reviles Ron Paul
Screw T-paw and his “special little version of conservatism” that has totally changed the politics of our nation.
Damn the neocons!

Hmmm. Last time T-paw backed McInsane (for President), he lost. Let’s hope this is a trend and that this endorsement is a negative for T-paw’s Presidential campaign.
