Bachmann pushes rumor that ‘Kucinich sold out for veganism’

I thought yesterday’s NRCC hit on Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) for the “coincidence” of voting for health care reform after his wife got to appear at a White House event promoting vegetables was sort of silly. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) did not. From her appearance on Bill Bennett’s radio show today:
BACHMANN: [T]o think what they’re flipping for. You know, Dennis Kucinich, a ride on Air Force One.
BENNETT: Yeah.
BACHMANN: And apparently the President also gave him, Dennis Kucinich’s wife and to be able to work with Michelle Obama on the next effort, which is if you eat vegan that you’ll lose weight. I think that’s the next, the next platform that Michelle Obama’s going to have. And what I understood yesterday is that Mrs. Kucinich will work together with Mrs. Obama on that effort.
BENNETT: It’s time to get the Cattleman’s Association back there.
BACHMANN: Oh my gosh, if this is what they’re selling out votes for on their side, they’re a bunch of weak sisters over there.
Can Bachmann really believe this, though? Wouldn’t the more explicable reason be that Kucinich realizes a sneaky plot to nationalize health care when he sees one? I think this is part of the pattern I’ve seen with Bachmann this week, focusing on “backroom deals” and “arm-twisting,” even when, as in this case, the allegation is awfully hard to take seriously.

I guess when you have nothing better to offer, you resort to making sh!t up like Bachmann does.

Unless of course, she is right. Kucinich DID sell out. THAT is a fact.
Why he sold out matters not.
First, he says he is against the healthcare bill. Then he spends time in AF1 in a tet-a-tete with Obama.
Then he is “for the bill”.
hmmm….
Now, bachmann saying shit is irrelavent, isn’t it?
The man caved in on his principles.

Ever think that having an intelligent conversation with and intelligent person might sway Kuchinich’s opinion? Rather than spewing factoids that have been manufactured to instill fear he was able to participate in a civil discourse. Perhaps he learned something.

The pattern with Bachmann is she makes up or repeats some new delusion, and then she forgets it and moves on to something else by the next media appearance.

Kucinich did not sell out. The bill is better than the status quo in all of the ways that his vision would be better than the bill. He just settled for a half a loaf.
Bachmann, otoh, continues to be an embarrassment.

I am disappointed by the final health care bill but reluctantly support it as a first step forward. I believe that is the same decision Kucinich made after his conversation with the President. Also, he’s been getting pressure from Democratic voters to support the bill. I respect him for reassessing his position.
What can you say about Bachmann? She is one of the most dishonest politicians I have ever seen in my 62 years. She is also just plain loony and for that very reason, the media loves her. She is a comedy sketch all by herself.

What the hell Michele! Just because you have accurate information and your conslusion is perfectly rational why do you think you can vocalize that conlusion publicly?

Michelle Bachmann is an idiot! She along with the rest of the republicans have spread so many lies about Health Care Reform that now they are starting to believe them! Its like the scare they started and kept up for so long about the Iraq war. They have all used backroom deals, kept secrets from the american people, reconciliation, etc. Maybe in there little world they’re perfect!
