The first campaign ads of the season are hitting radio stations in western Minnesota. Glen Menze, who has unsuccessfully challenged Rep. Collin Peterson twice — losing by 50 points in 2008 and 40 points in 2000 — has made radio buys in Fargo-Moorhead on AM 1100 AM, and on 100.7 KKKV, and 94.3 KULO in Alexandria. Here’s the script of the two ads:

Hi, my name is Glen Menze. I’m running for Congress here in the 7th District. Let’s talk cap and trade. It’s a job killer. It will cost more for energy and gasoline. I vote no. Collin Peterson said no then voted yes like a spring crappie on a dock: Flip, flop, flip, flop. Sounds fishy to me. On health care, I vote no. We need a congressman we can trust. That’s why I approve of this message. Paid for by Friends of Menze. Help retire Collin Peterson by going to menzeforcongress.com. We need to elect a conservative congressman.

Has Menze read the DoD report on how cc can negatively affect our national security? Has he read that not addressing cc could cause another DustBowl in our western states? Has he looked at different sources of scientific data on cc, not only the data that confirms his POV? If not, he needs to do so before he takes a position on this issue.
