Dan, you didn't deal with the issue. You merely kept up the mudslinging. Bremer took the remarks out of context, and in a self-righteous manner demeaned someone for going to a school he doesn't like. That's the issue. The issue is that he can't seem to use journalistic integrity, but would rather twist words to further his agenda. My post wasn't for or against Bachmann. My post was merely pointing out the out-of-context nature of this supposed journalist's writing. You jumped right in to the ad hominem argument as well. Why can people just not understand critical thinking? What's wrong with interacting with the actual issues being presented? Sure, a smart-alecky quip saying that my taking issue with someone's blatant disregard for journalistic integrity is, in itself out of context, because of this person's assumption of what my non-stated beliefs are. That makes a lot of sense. Keep with the slagging Dan, you prove your own lack of thought in your response.

Hey SuznAZ....

.I''ll take a degree from the Naval Academy where you study HARD stuff like fluid mechanics, navigation, themodynamics, engineering over "interpretational fluff" at an Ivy League school ANY DAY! It prepares you for, how would you say...something REAL!

"Community Organizing? What is that? I have seen his "organized community" in Chicago and it looks like Beirut. How is that for "hope" and "change"? I saw the same "change" and "hope" under Marion Berry in DC, David Dinkins in NYC, and most recently Sharpe James in Newark and Kenneth Gibson before him. Should we expect more "competence" of the same order from this inexperienced "stunod" from Chicago? I think so if America is stupid enough to elect him and his equally liberal hand-maiden from the credit card state of Delaware. Hey Suz...21.5% interest on a credit card! Where is the complaint about those "obscene profits" ?

Next point...what wing, division or ship did Obama serve on? Oh that is right, none! Obama wouldn't even pass a military physical.

No executive experience with McCain? Do you know how much time and energy is expended in the property, plant, equipment and personnel to command a squadron? Of course you wouldn't but those who do ensure that your fluffy little head sleeps well on that AZ pillow at night.

Oh, finally Suz...I turned down Columbia for a real State School - Rutgers, and unlike Obama, there were no scholarships in the early 70s for "deserving white kids who showed promise." Obama can't relate to working people because that "kept man" in Chicago has never done a real days work but sure stands ready to take more $$$ from those of us who do!

Scholarship versus legacy. Not even close.

One worked his butt off to get to college. The other had it bestowed upon him for having a wealthy and powerful dad.

And was Bush "well-schooled to be President of the United States?"

No, but it doesn't stop her from trying to lay a lip-lock on him whenever he's within reach. The woman has a severe detachment from reality and will say pretty much anything, especially if it's been fed to her by one of her right-wing bible-thumping sources.

The question re Michelle Bachman is "why is she so successful?" We progressives, Democrats, or moderates, are really getting our clock's cleaned by these seemingly self-righteous, ill-informed, simplistic thinking seeming "crazies". Why is that? What are we missing here?

I think Dave is out of context. Michelle Bachmann is unqualified to recognize qualifications for President. Her lack of quality schooling is one factor. The other is her unflagging support of GW Bush. Undoubtedly the worst President in history. She thought he was the best thing since sliced bread, but who has screwed up just about everything he could touch. He is leaving our country in tatters--in the ditch, so to speak. No, Michelle is inept at assessing Presidential qualifications.

Bachman's opinion isn't exactly unbiased or relevant. Her choosing to work for the IRS and Obama choosing to work to help his community speaks volumes. And what does she say of Mccain? After influence instead of merit got him an appointment, he graduated near the bottom of his class with lots of demerits, and went on to crash a number of planes. Can't see he has subsequent executive experience either.

Yes there are ALOT of degrees running around out there, and I have met ALOT of Ivy Leaguers on the unemployment lines.

When I see the current state of the mortgage mess, what schools did all those big banks and brokerage firms go to in search of their new hires? New York Money Center Banks and Brokergaes don't even hire non-Ivy League grads for their better positions. Thank such places like Harvard, Columbia, and Yale.

Maybe when the BIG banks and brokerages get done licking their wounds, they will seek kids from less
"elite" schools who want to be paid for their real world work, and not their cherished Ivy League degree.

As one who once went nose to nose with my small midwestern school degree agaonst a high and mighty Columbia MBA...that strutz didn't even know how to do a pro-forma income statement.....and when they asked him to go to the corporate sales school in Virginia, why, selling was "beneath him." He didn't last long.

The moral of the story boys and girls....it isn't where you go to school...it is what you do while you are there. And please don't mention Obama on the Harvard Law Review. They wanted somebody who was black and Harvard even said so publically!
