Karl Rove — and CODE Pink — coming to Minneapolis

Karl Rove, a controversial GOP operative and former Deputy Chief of Staff for President George Bush, will make an April 22 appearance at the University of Minnesota for a book signing with the university chapter of the College Republicans. Rove’s book tour has been disrupted by anti-war protesters who have attempted a citizen’s arrest, citing his involvement in the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame and in the run-up to the Iraq War. And indications are they may try it again here.
At California and Nevada signings for Rove’s book, “Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight,” CODE Pink members tried to arrest him.
It appears, anti-war activists will attempt to do the same in Minneapolis, according to a Facebook event:
“The War Criminal Karl Rove is coming to town! He released a book “Courage and Consequence” despite he is trying to avoid facing any consequences from the war crimes of the Bush years. He also doesn’t have enough “courage” to turn himself in for these same crimes.

It is really too bad that these people get away with disrupting a person who has done nothing to them just to try and prove a point. Carl Rove is not the source of their problems, they are the source.

It is really too bad that Karl got away with what he did. This country did nothing to him to deserve it. Those protesters are not killing people, but those wars started by Bush and Carl are still going on, killing people every day.
We’re lucky Bush and his brain Carl aren’t still in charge or we’d be in another endless war looking for WMDs in the Belgian Congo.

Mike -
Were you out of the country from 1998 to just recently? Do you get all your news from fox?
Karl is spelt with a “K” by the way – just so you know.

Too bad that Rove fired a lot of hard-working, fair-minded US Attorneys and replaced them with political hacks. Too bad that former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman had to spend time in jail before Rove’s trumped up charges were thrown out. Too bad David Lillehaug was forced out of office so that Rachel Paulose could stink up the Minneapolis US Attorney’s office for a while before proving herself too unqualified and too vindictive to hold the position. The damage and corruption that Rove inflicted on just that one department should be enough to land him in prison. His book title is too shameless for words.

The facebook event cited in this article is not affliated with code pink – so the title is confusing unless they also have another event planned :-)

Seems Rove and Bush allowed corporations to become ‘tobig to fail.” Our country has allowed our national politicians, especially those in the White House are “too big to prosecute.” The founders of this country are rolling.

Code pink is a perfect example of a liberal left circle jerk in motion. These people are so sad & delusionary.

Amishron, CODEPINK stands for justice and peace. That’s not liberal and left– it’s right thinking. What’s really sad is your attitude that we should just sit still and take the injustice, torture, murder, looting and destruction of our democracy and the rule of law by people like Rove. Is that what you support?

Suestueben is thinking clearly, what about those crooks now in power in the White House, they are giving money to Wall Street friends, Soros, et al. How about the $ 2 billion load to Petrobras from the US, Brazil has more money than the US, Soros owns a big chunk of Petrobras. Obama, Geitner, many congressmen own the market in Cap and Trade, and want to pass the Cap and Tax bill to get rich.

Cornhusker Kickback. Louisiana Purchase. Those who strongly disapprove of Obama are 14 % higher than those who strongly approve. POTUS criticizing American citizens of Arizona for not agreeing with him. One trillion $ of additional debt added by Democrats. Unemployment hovering near 10% — POTUS thinks an even higher unemployment rate could be considered “normal.” Miranda rights to nearly successful terrorists. Calling American citizens “tea-baggers.” Losing congressional elections.
Show me the proof that either Bush or Rove broke any law by name, number, and content of the law. Code Pink only wants attention, not what is best for Americans. Again, show me the name, number, and content of the laws allegedly broken. Now, count the number of terrorist attacks during the Bush administration and compare them with Potus’ record

My previous post was on this wall for a few minutes and then taken down. It contained no profanities, only facts, so I’m still convinced that liberal newspapers control news by omission or removal of opinions or incidents which with which they don’t agree.
Your job as liberals, even your duty, is to believe that what the papers tell you is all of the truth. Be careful and don’t check other sources because your opinions might change.

The only thing they did wrong was enter a war everyone else also wanted. Everyone wanted to take care of the criminals from 9-11, now everyone has forgotten what we were fighting for. I really hope you don’t need another rude awakening even though we have been close many times. The people want peace but you cant have it if the other side doesn’t. Why should we give them all these rights when they disagree with them? We will not be at peace until they are stopped.
