Arturo Sarukhan, Mexico’s ambassador to the U.S., has tweeted a travel advisory from the Mexican government advising citizens against travel to the state of Arizona. And yesterday, Mexican President Felipe Calderón denounced the Arizona law:

“A legislation, which opens the door to unacceptable racial discrimination, is set in motion. Mexico’s government will use everything in its power to defend the rights of Mexicans who are affected by this legislation, and we’ll spare no effort to ensure the dignity of every fellow compatriot.”

Funny Calderon doesn’t care about defending Mexican rights until they leave his country because it is so bad. By the way I never knew Mexican was a race, I thought it was a country.

I have read the bill and see nothing in it that would allow for racial profiling by the police. The bill states that if they have a reason to be in contact with the person AND they have suspicions that the person may be here illegally, they have a duty to ask about the person’s citizenship. There is nothing wrong with that in my book.

Besides, how many jobs are not available for my union brothers and sisters because they are taken by scabs who are not supposed to be here?
