In Maryland, Bachmann calls Democrats a ‘cabal of radicals’

Rep. Michele Bachmann told attendees at the Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner that Democrats are a “cabal of radicals” that are doing a “leap toward socialism.” The event was hosted by the Frederick County Republican Central Committee in Maryland.

“We are unwilling to let this cabal of radicals pull the rug of freedom out from under us in our lifetime. Now we have this glorious opportunity called November,” she said.

She added that the Founding Fathers created the United States under the name of God. “Only God gives liberty, freedom and only God gives the right to happiness. Which isn’t just a license for hedonism. Pursuit of happiness means the right to your labor,” she added.

Yet another in a too long series of idiotic comments from our esteemed Representative, proving yet again that she’s totally ignorant about how OUR country was founded.

FACT: MOST of the Founding Father’s were Deists, with a healthy skepticism of organized religion. Look it up…

The founders believed in Natural Law whereby nature or more specifically the “Creator” endows all people with rights. The government does not GRANT the rights, it merely observes and protects them.

Like it or not the Founders relied heavily on the justification of God, undoubtedly the Judeo-Christian Deity. George Washington assigned the Thanksgiving Day holiday, not for a day of silence, but explicitly to thank GOD.

Once again Bachmann’s affirmation of fact falls on deaf ears.

After all that, you might expect that God was mentioned in the Constitution.

If you are having trouble finding it, you are not alone.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”

So states the Declaration of Independence – not a document laws are based on, but a statement of intent nonetheless.

Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed … not God after all.

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

So begins the Constitution. We the People. *We* ordain and establish. We create our own Justice, our own Liberty. We do not submit to cult religions, no matter how powerful. We recognize the difference between the dominion of Man and the Kingdom of God. We, the people.

There is good and sound reason for this. Religious zealots and radicals like Bachmann tend to trample the unalienable Rights endowed by the Creator envisioned by those who believe differently from their own interpretations of religion.

This is why theocracy has never made a healthy form of government, or a more perfect Union.

Michele Bachmann is blindly devoted to her own narrow belief system and is passionately intolerant of any rights or beliefs that conflict with or challenge hers.

We all know that God is not mentioned in the Constitution, the document that defines the limits of government. But Bachmann’s point is simply that this nation is unique in its founding in that we began with a declaration that our rights don’t come from kings or even democratically elected governments. Our rights come from a higher power and as such are unalienable by kings or governments.

It’s not important whether that higher power is the christian God, Yahweh, Vishnu, Bhagwan, or Grandfather. The point is that governments cannot take away that which they’ve no role in granting.

And this is why it’s so important to the left that they oppose this notion at every turn. Not because they fear a theocracy as they will say, but because it’s important to them that the State lay claim as to the source of your rights and privileges. To the Left, political power requires power over you. And that’s not possible if you see them as not the arbiters of your rights but simply the caretakers.

Conservatives like Bachmann are ridiculed and vilified not because their religious beliefs are radical (polls show 80% of the population share those beliefs), but because they pose a threat by reminding us who we are as a people and where we came from and that impedes the progressive agenda.

I love the how Bachmann cuts right through all the crap and cover up that liberalism has thrown over people. She speaks the words all of us want to express out loud. Way to go Bachmann- we are in support of you.

She should roam in the states that would agree with this bat shit stupid woman. Stay out of the states that wouldn’t want her to represent them. I wish it was possible to put Mrs. Bachmann in a classroom against her will and teach her subject after subject; one of them being history.

That’s pretty scary. I mean, I didn’t even know that freedom had a rug! My sister suggests we secure the Rug of Freedom with Carpet Tacks of Justice to the Hardwood Floor of the Constitution. I will have to see what they have in stock at the Hardware Store of Democracy.
