The GOP State Convention is underway and dominating the local Twitterverse — follow along at #mngop10 — with more than a few people noting the irony of the Republicans’ repeated use of anti-war songs between speakers. One, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Vietnam-era “Fortunate Son” — which is sung from the perspective of a draftee who’s not among the children of pro-war senators and millionaires who are spared having to experience war themselves — accompanied Gov. Tim Pawlenty as he left the stage.
