Democratic Attorney General Mike Hatch has a razor-thin lead over incumbent Republican Tim Pawlenty, according to a new poll by SurveyUSA.

The poll gave Hatch the slimmest of margins, a 45% to 44% lead, which was within the poll’s 4.1% margin of error.

Independence party candidate Peter Hutchinson earned 7% of the vote, Green Ken Pentel and independent Leslie Davis each earned 1%, and only 2% of respondents indicated they were undecided.

This poll mirrors other recent polls that have shown Hatch and Pawlenty within a few percentage points of each other; only one of the past eleven polls taken on the race has shown either candidate with a lead outside the margin of error.

The poll surveyed 606 likely voters.
