The House is currently voting to move a standalone unemployment insurance bill, and I’ll update in two minutes when they are done.

But encouraging news from the Senate side as well for unemployed Americans looking for a benefits extension. A Senate Democratic leadership aide says Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is working with members of the Republican caucus and hopes to move the standalone bill Al Franken cosponsored this week — before the July 4 recess.

This “recession” is fast becoming a depression, Congress fiddles while the ordinary working people suffer. Oh I forgot, we are not rich millionaries or bankers, silly me !

Evidently all the asshole senators can’t count. In my version of democracy a plurality of 57 votes for and 41 votes AGAINST the issue would have passed. What the hell is wrong with the majority rules factor??Democracy my ass!!!
