Iowa’s King to headline Bachmann picnic
Tuesday, July 06, 2010 at 1:44 pm
Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa will be in Lake Elmo this evening to speak at a picnic for Rep. Michele Bachmann. King and Bachmann have become close in the House, sharing a press staffer as well as conservative “tea party” views.
King tweeted that he will be attending Tuesday’s event in Lake Elmo; the affair was described as a large picnic.
Bachmann recently attended an Iowa fundraiser with King in support of King’s former chief of staff, Brenna Findley, who is running for Iowa Attorney General.
Bachmann said Findley should be up for a Supreme Court nomination instead of Elena Kagan, adding that “when Steve King is president, he can appoint her.”
Bachmann, who repeatedly has used the adjective “stunning” to describe King, has called for a King presidency several times over the past year.

When people such as Michele Bachmann and Steve King express such detest for government – as though our government of by and for the people is our enemy – rather than Al Quaeda, the Taliban and other actual enemies — we should honor these people by refusing to burden them with public service jobs that require them to try to effectively govern.
When the government they hate fails, who should we blame but Representative Bachmann, Representative King, and similar folks who have spent all their effort at every step undermining effective governance?

I’ll bring the ants if you bring the nukes.
It’s a metaphor. Really!
We can hide in the bushes and listen to them rewriting stone tablets.
