Around the local Twitterverse, the buzz is about Target’s name appearing among funders behind the conservative group MN Forward’s new pro-Tom Emmer TV commercials. Plus, Rep. Michele Bachmann gets House approval for her Tea Party Caucus, and Minneapolis’ mayor reads about Roosevelt.

—Rep. Ryan Winkler, DFL, District, 44B, Golden Valley
—Rep. Al Juhnke, DFL, District 13B, Willmar
— Kevin Watterson, public affairs director, House Republican Caucus
—U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, Republican, Sixth Congressional District
—Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak
—Tom Horner, Independence Party candidate for governor
—Stephanie Schriock, EMILY’s List president, on former Franken staffer joining her organization

If true, I think it’s interesting and instructive that Mark Dayton’s own family is rooting for the other guys. heh.
I guess it’s more important to them that they stay in business than to have one of their own as governor.

Of the $460K as of July 6, Target contributed $100K in cash and $50K in in-kind contributions.
I agree with Rep. Al Juhnke in that companies should not back one party or the other in elections since offended customers can take their business elsewhere.

We better all stop going to Target – Because god knows they don’t spend any money on community education, the Arts, local school’s, food shelves, etc, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention the several hundred thousand people they employ. But, well, um, we don’t agree with them on everything so we better stop buying from them.
