Bachmann jumps the gun on Tea Party Caucus membership
Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 8:00 am
When U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann announced Wednesday the names of House members that had joined her House Tea Party Caucus, it left some congressmen scratching their heads. Many hadn’t actually signed up to be members, and the list put out by Bachmann was quickly removed from her website.
The Frum Forum, a website by conservative commentator David Frum, contacted “members” of the Tea Party Caucus, and many indicated they were surprised to know they had joined and others were under the impression that the list of members wouldn’t be released.
Congressman John Mica of Florida told the website that he had not joined the caucus. And two other congressional member’s offices indicated that they hadn’t heard a thing about their boss signing up.
Bachmann released a new list later in the day. So far, none of Minnesota’s other Republican Congress members have signed on.

This is a ploy often used by her political doppelganger Sarah Palin. It’s all about getting on national news with a nod to the Hollywood maxim: All publicity is good publicity. It’s all about face time, baby!

I saw her with a picture of about 30 people it looked like. Plus, I’ll join her Tea Party Caucus as soon as I beat Betty McCollum and Teresa Collett for the 4th District seat.
By the way, I was watching CNN (because I have to) and saw this black reporter Warren Ballentine saying the Tea Party isn’t racist, it’s states rights ideology is racist. I say to Warren “Get over it!” States’ rights doesn’t have anything to do with you (and you’re not the arbiter of states’ rights). It’s in the Constitution, that’s why it was adopted!
Can’t wait to get to Washington and the Tea Party Caucus. Now, I don’t think state’s rights extends to the Mexican Border situation, that’s federal.
