Why the hell do they seize X-boxes?

Because video games drive people insane don't you know?

Any idea what the reasonable cause basis was behind believing any of the bomb making items would be found there? Or was it just a general police statement of “we have reason to believe” without ever stating the reason.

Well I can tell you that if we as citizens tolerate this type of behaviour from our law enforcement agencies we deserve the pending Facist government that is certain to follow when a public accepts such brazen actions from their government! I cannot believe that the people of Minnesota are not outraged by this type of thuggery and intimidation. Any Judge who signed a warrant like this needs to be literaly thrown out of office on their petard! Damm it Americans where is the outrage that this should engender in any true patriot. Is this not what our founding fathers started a revolution for when the British where raiding homes of law abiding citizens? My God what have we become to so casually accept such actions from and public offical. Those police officers involved in this should all be ashamed of themselves. How would they like it if a group of thugs burst into their house in the morning, thrwon their family members on the ground and cow tied their hands and feet log dogs.
I am outraged that there is nothing o the mainstream media on this! Enough is enough! There needs to be an end put to these types of actions from our govrnment!

What Judge signed the warrant?
Post a capy of the warrant itself.

Is there anyone in the US that doesn't have at least 1/2 or more of these very common items in their house?

I'd like to know what the probable cause supposedly was to justify the issuance of this search warrant. I think the people who were victimized by these fascistic tactics should sue everyone involved in a 1983 action. The American people will surprise you. If a jury hears this, they'll probably really sock it to these officials, unless there's something about all this you're not telling us.

I have a reasonably well equipped hobby workshop. With the exception of the assembled IEDs and incendiaries and the maps of St. Paul (I'm in AZ). I have every single one of these items. You're right – this is flat out batshit nuts.

The judge that signed that warrant is going to get raped hardcore. What I'd like to see is the group take up a donation drive, hire themselves a lawyer, and retaliate by getting the judge disbarred for their participation in what is obviously a raid to discourage peaceful political discourse.
After all, lets say this a dangerous terrorist organization hellbent on killing police and disrupting the RNC operations, then why the fuck are they trying to confiscate an Xbox, dvd's, camera's, walkmens, Ipods and cellphones? Why are the kitty litter box for shit? Some of the crap on this list is laughable. “Bricks”? We were searching for bricks and found a brick house so we confiscated it, will not hold up in any reasonable court.
Funny part is they weren't looking for guns.

Better than 90% of those items are in MY home too, and I am guessing most readers homes as well.
Anyone know what judge signed off on these so called “warrants” (no warrant shall issue, but upon probably cause)?
I see no probable cause whatsoever. Planned protests are not a crime. Even possession of caltrops isn't a crime, though they don't seem to have had any. And they raided Food Not Bombs looking for :”incendiary devices”- guess what- they will find evidence of cooking, but no bombs… this is nothing more than a tyrannical attempt to stifle free speech. I guess now we know home Amerikkka will look under McCain / Palin

It brings me to tears to look at this list that includes items that ANYONE and nearly EVERYONE has at home at any given time. Is it illegal for me to have cardboard boxes and twine with which to tie them together for recycling now?? Who's next and what's next?

Urine and feces?
You americans are wierd…

X-box was out by Microsoft and has internet capabilities. Undetectable? Don't know.
I build, repair and case mod computers. Mow my yard. Store screws, bolts and nuts
in glass jars. Fix roof leaks. Ship out ebay sales. Fix my own vehicles.
So I've got most of this stuff too. No cell phone or ipod.
Just a common home owner.
So does this make me a terrist threat?
And no you won't find this stuff on the media news. They
do't want you to know. Check the media news of other countries.
Like UK, Canada, etc. And you will find what's really happening here
in the U.S.

It is unfathomable that helping people eat and speaking your mind are now crimes in one of the so-called freest countries in the world. My favorite part is “media in whatever form,” which includes pretty much everything.

It will look the same under obama or mccain, they are owned by the same people. Remember our boy Bill who added 100,000 cops.
The right/left paradigm is to keep us little people scurrying about while those of true wealth and power suck us dry. The federal reserve is a crime a crime pure and simple. Google “America Freedom to Fascism” on that topic.
Its all a game folks, at least to them it is.
Oh, BTW what do over 450 architects and engineers think happened on 9 1 1 ?

It seems that few of the posters here have any sense at all. Just because something is on a warrant doesn’t mean that you are going to be arrested for having it. When most business get raided (for what ever reason) the warrants include PC’s not because its illegal to have PC’s but because you might have incriminating evidence on your PC. Same with an X-box which can be used as an electronic storage device.
A fictitious example would be storing schematics for building a bomb on an X-box and then FedEx it to someone in America, while its not illegal to ship X-boxes I do believe that shipping schematics for making a bomb is illegal (although I could be wrong, but this is just an example). Now I’m not saying that these people should have been raided, in fact I find it highly unlikely that the police will find anything illegal. But come on people use a little common sense just because a warrant allows police to take your X-Box, PC, cell phone doesn’t mean you are going to be arrested for having those items, they are simply going to look for incriminating evidence on those items.
Seriously use a little common sense, PLEASE!

kevin, apparently “incriminating evidence” includes maps and photographs. americans have (had…) the right to peaceably assemble before this ass-clown bush made everyone so furious that they had to set up “free speech zones” for protests miles from where anyone can see them.
it really bothers me to think the government might try to make you sound like a criminal for possessing:
->bottles and jars
->photographs and maps of your city
->bleach
->nails and screws
->duct tape
->puppets
->a non-empty kitty litter box
and that they can just grab any digital media in your house.
they’re just making it worse, making more people more angry by doing shit like arresting amy fucking goodman for fuck’s sake. i’m not some thug looking for any chance to make trouble, but our government is completely out of control. how do they expect thinking people to react?

did they find food?

Do any of you read the newspaper, listen to the radio, watch TV or have the internet? You call yourselves thinking people? This group is known to be violent, like a lot of leftist groups that use moral equivalency to justify violence and murder. The point is not that they have those materials, but the likelihood that they will use them to injure and kill others. If you aren’t a member of any of these groups, the chances you will have a warrant issued to search your house for these items is almost nil.
As far as America becoming fascist, the further left we go will ensure that through so called fairness actions, i.e. the Fairness Doctrine, designed to squelch conservative talk radio. Forcing religious organizations to accept morally repugnant actions, i.e. abortion and homosexuality, and repressing any public religious display is here already, even though it is really unconstitutional to do so. To those making any money at all lose 1/3 of it to government that keeps growing by leaps and bounds in the name of compassion, when there is really no compassion in government. It is only a faceless entity designed to restrict your rights. But…. you’re entitled, right?

This is all part of the Domestic Terrorism Act. The First Amendment is no more!
Comment posted October 28, 2008 @ 3:16 pm
you sound as if you are lawful good whatever law is in place must be upheld for the greater whole to save lives and what not (what i expect those officers whom raided this home to be) however is it not possible that too many rights are being violated don’t get me wrong I’m all for upholding the law and working with law enforcement but not if it means “certain unalienable rights” are alienated granted that if what you say is true i mean REALLY true (not just somthing in a vauge police report to make things seem bad) then these people had it coming but if what you say is wrong then everything you stand for being a patriot for your country is only being taken advantage of for greater power control in government on our everyday lives
don’t get me wrong im not one of these nutty leftists
but in no way am i as right wing as you
a balance is what is needed and that “balance” is being off set by our government
did you know that in the constitution it states it is the responsiblity of every citizen to over throw a government that alienates its people why i say this is because its illegal for you to do nothing about your government when it takes advantage of anyone under its law
