Bowling, bigwigs featured in upcoming Franken, Emmer events

As GOP gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer lines up Republican bigshots for an Aug. 23 campaign event — Tim Pawlenty and Reps. Michele Bachmann, Erik Paulsen and John Kline — Democratic U. S. Sen. Al Franken heads to Minneapolis’ Bryant Lake Bowl this weekend for a fundraiser. The Hill notes that Sunday’s $75/person “Brunch and Bowling Party” gives Franken a chance to prove himself after characters in an ad for Sen. Norm Coleman’s ultimately unsuccessful re-election bid berated Franken’s bowling prowess.

Emmer’s “major fundraising event” gives top billing to Pawlenty on the campaign’s website.

“Because of Tim Pawlenty’s outstanding leadership over the last eight years, Minnesota is well-positioned to lead the nation in economic growth,” said Emmer. “His help and support for our campaign means a lot.”

On Facebook, Emmer says a location hasn’t been determined yet.

“Because of Tim Pawlenty’s outstanding leadership over the last eight years”

…like the complete cut-based failure to fix the state budget, LGA cuts that raised my taxes, “in absentia” work ethics, and constant negotiating failures. Yeah, there’s a campaign add for ya, DFLers! Outstanding leadership?

Dennis could have done better!

Emmer is having trouble finding a place where the servers will serve him.

Or maybe this is just another case of republicans starting something without any plan.
