Klobuchar Out-Fundraises Kennedy

Amy Klobuchar has raised significantly more money than opponent Mark Kennedy over the past five weeks, according to FEC reporting.

Klobuchar, the Democratic Hennepin County Attorney, raised $1.35 million over the past five weeks.  Kennedy, a Republican Congressman, raised $975,000. 

While Kennedy has raised more total money for the cycle ($8.5 million to $7.9 million for Klobuchar), Klobuchar has more money left for the stretch run.  Klobuchar is reporting cash on hand of $2.25 million, compared to about $2 million for Kennedy.  This makes the situation rather dire for Kennedy; he has been trailing badly in the polls, and is now facing a cash deficit as well.
